MOTHERS DAY!

Once upon a time there was a beautiful young lady,

who gave birth to two beautiful girls,

(I'm the cuter one on

the left in the photos...lol)

who gave her 5 beautiful grandchildren

And these are the reasons I love her

1. Patience: Lord Almighty who else could drive from Charlotte, NC to California with 3 kids and 2 dogs in a pick up...with one daughter (take a guess who) with her feet in her lap and singing her lungs out to her walkman. I mean really...how many times did you hear "We got the beat" by the Go'Gos?

2. Love: For letting me make my mistakes (does the name Keith Simms ring a bell?.. for that matter how about the entire year I was 16.

3. Faith: For always believing that I would eventually realize my mistakes! Some of them I still won't admit to!

4. Compassion: For being my shoulder to cry on, vent on and just take about any frustration I have out on.

5. And finally....for telling me constantly that you love me and that you are proud of me........

If you have bluegrass in your soul and your heart cries out for the sound of dixie, then I have found the blog for you. Its called blindpigandtheacorn. I have been reading her blogs and have alternated between laughing and crying, she writes about all the wonderful memories we have as children, in times that were simpler. Remember the days of eating around the table, of playing outside til dark with ALL the neighborhood kids, of being poor but never really realizing it. I remember when as a kid you didnt dare not say "yes maam" or "yes sir" to ANY adult, when the paddle was the only disciplinarian in the house and every kid knew where it was hanging, and how bad it hurt. The music on her site calls to my soul, I hear it and dream of the country and of the beauty of the days gone by.

friends and weddings

a friend of mine is getting married on the 24th of this month. i wanted to do something special for her so i did the only thing i know how to do and made her a bag. i wanted it to be like her personality...sparkling and beautiful. i got the sparkly thing down...hopefully she thinks its beautiful

the tiny little dots are crystals that i hand sewed on the fabric and look at the amazing button i found at joanns. it really matches the crystal handles. it was so hard to take pics of this

aaaaannnddd.......i finally made ME a bag. i saw a bag kinda like this and decided to try it out for myself, lot of things are wrong with the bag (im not going to point them out) but i think i have the design down so when i make another one i will know what NOT to do. kinda my way of working anyway lol :)

I usually shop for fabric from quilthome but I just found this new online store that I absolutely LOVE. The prices are 2-3 dollars cheaper than quilthome and they have an AMAZING!! sales category. Check them out.....its called "Fabricshack"

baseball

baseball began for a us a couple of weeks ago. It is the first time that my 6 year old has been old enough to play. He is my sport kid....all he talks about is playing baseball. My husband took him out and bought him a bat and I had to post a pic of him with it.....

they wanted to sleep on the pull out and he would not let go of it!
